Halal Supplements: How to Actually Check a Label

5 June 2026 · 1 min read · By Shehryar Akram

"Halal" on the front of a pack isn't always backed by anything. Here's how to check properly.

- Gelling agent. Most gummies use gelatine (animal-derived, often pork). A halal gummy uses plant pectin — look for "pectin" or "vegan".

- Certification body. A real claim names its certifier (we use HCA, with the number on the pack). "Halal ingredients" with no named body is weaker.

- Capsule shells. Many capsules are gelatine. Plant-based (HPMC) shells are the halal/vegan route — our Magnesium 3-in-1 uses one.

- Carriers & coatings. Check for alcohol-based carriers or animal-derived glazing agents.

Every Vitamynx product is HCA Halal certified, 100% vegan (plant pectin, no gelatine), and formulated in the UK. See the full range on Shop All. More questions answered on Are gummy vitamins halal?
