Are Gummy Vitamins Halal?

It depends on one ingredient: gelatine. Most gummies are set with gelatine, which is animal-derived (often from pork) — so they’re usually not halal. A gummy set with plant pectin is. Every Vitamynx gummy is pectin-based and HCA Halal certified.

Is gelatine halal?

Gelatine comes from animal collagen. It’s only halal if it’s from a halal-slaughtered animal — and most commercial gelatine isn’t, with a lot of it pork-derived. If a gummy lists gelatine and isn’t halal-certified, treat it as not halal.

Is pectin halal?

Yes. Pectin is a fibre from fruit (usually apples or citrus peel) — entirely plant-based, so it’s halal and vegan. It’s the gelling agent Vitamynx uses instead of gelatine.

Is CBD halal?

It’s debated among scholars, and CBD products vary a lot in how they’re made and what else they contain. Vitamynx doesn’t use CBD — our gummies are simple, HCA Halal certified, pectin-based formulas, so there’s no ambiguity.
